WHY IS KNOWING YOUR LANGUAGE IMPORTANT TO KNOW?? WELL I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW AND LEARN MORE ABOUT...SO YOU CAN TEACH UR LIL SISTERS AND BROTHERS....BECAUSE IF WE DONT LEARN THE LANGUAGE NOW WHO WILL TEACH US?? BECAUSE ALL OUR ELDERS WILL NT ALWAYS BE HERE...IT IS COMING CLOSE FOR THEM TO GO HOME AND BE WITH THE CREATOR...AND SO IT WOULD BE GOOD FOR US TO LEARN N TO TEACH ALL THE OTHER LIL N8IVES BACC HOME CUZ NOT ALL THE N8IVES KNOW THE LANGUAGE THAT GUD. BUT IF I LEARN MORE AND TAKE WAT I LEARNED HERE BACC HOME WITH ME THEY MITE CATCH ON AND SPEAK IT WITH ME!!! WELL YEA THATS ALL I GOTTA SAY FOR NOW SO PEACE OUT... AND FRYBREAD GREASE =) =)
WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO KNOW MY LANGUAGE? WELL CUZ BY LEARNING IT SHOSHONI I CAN GO HOME AND TEACH MY BABY GIRL AND MY FAMILY CUZ NOT ALL MY FAMILY KNOW HOW TO SPEAK FLUENTLY AND IF I AM SMART ENOUGH I CAN LEARN ALOT AND TEACH ALL THE N8IVES BACC HOME HOW TO SPEAK AND ACTUALLY HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH ME...LOL WELL THATS ALL I CAN REALLY SAY SO YEA G2G WORKS ALMOST OVER... =) =)
It is important to know your native language because it's your identity. If you don't know your language then you're the same as any other native or person in the world. An if you don't learn it then eventually the languag will fade away and be forgotten.Plus i want to remember the words my great grandma spoke to me. She's gone now and thats all i have left of her. I hope the language comes back so our future kids know it too.
Speaking sosoni can help me understand what my family is saying and I can talk back, in good ways. A good thing is I can make sure no one will be talking bad about me, but I can talk little about someone, it's good cuz all of us are holding our tradition longer since the elders are...getting older, we need someone to save it. Being shoshone you should know your language, and I will be proud to know, its kind of coming back to me, I do know that if I have children I can pass it on to them, knowing the shoshone language can add advances as to; singing hand-game songs, pow-wow songs, and knowing what they are about.
by knowing you shoshone language is keeping you native heritage alive man! throughout tha years our language is dying by taking these classes is tellin everyone that you still have some sprit left in ya. its really important also is cuz alot of colleges are kinda impressed that we actually took tha time outta our own lifes to peserve our language by taking classes n learning it. alot of benefits come from all this, alot of kids dont really know how to speak and we could be hta saviors of this language cuz its dying n fading away. . .and i wanna be the youngest outta my family who could actually understand what tha heck my grandparents is sayin n i could talk back to em' (in a good way. haha.)
I ALREADY POSTED MY MINE ON DESCRIBING WHY IM HERE YOU WILL SEE IT
